Episode 6: Portugal

The Panasqueira Mine created an “appetite for apatites.” And you’ll get a taste of these rare, multicolored crystals when Thomas meets a mineral dealer in the city of Cascais. But the biggest score is the crew’s opportunity to give us a behind-the-scenes look at the Panasqueira Mine. As one of the world’s largest tungsten mines it’s also one of the most mineral-diverse mines, known for its production of apatites, crystallized tungsten, arsenopyrite and many more. As the episode concludes, you’ll enjoy the view of gorgeous Portugal and a stop in Porto at Taylor’s Port Wine Cellars to sample its famous port wine.
