COPAL/Amber - Santander, Colombia

Our Copal, a young form of Amber less than one million years old, is found in Santander, Colombia. Formed from the resin of ancient trees, Copal is often clear and sometimes occurs with insects such as gnats, mosquitos, spiders, roaches, moths, ants, and termites trapped in the resin. Some specimens also have termite tunnels, leaves, or moss vegetation. Copal is dug up by locals and polished to a luster.
